No to both. The inspection, where we come to your home and assess the damage, is free. The written estimate of what the work will cost is also free. You’ll know exactly what the job involves and what it should cost before any work begins, with no obligation and no upselling.
How does billing work with my insurance company?
We document the loss, communicate with your carrier, and help guide the claim. Many customers pay their deductible while we handle much of the paperwork and coordination. Most homeowners start by calling their agent; they may then refer you to Paces to inspect and confirm whether the loss appears claim-worthy.
Does homeowners insurance typically cover water or fire damage in Georgia?
Often yes for sudden and accidental water or fire damage, but coverage depends on your policy and the cause of loss. Review your policy and confirm details with your carrier. We’ll help you navigate the process.
Will insurance cover smoke or mold damage?

How long does water damage restoration take?
Drying takes three to five days for most homes. Larger losses with demolition or contents work run longer. You get a timeline at the inspection and updates at every daily check.
How long does fire damage restoration take?
It depends on the size of the property, severity of the fire, permitting, and insurance/funding timelines. Smaller losses may take days to weeks; a large total-loss rebuild can take many months.
How long does mold remediation take, and can I stay home?
In many cases we can remediate while you remain in the home by containing the affected area. Larger scopes may require demo and about 3 days of equipment runtime. We’ll advise what’s safest for your specific job.
Will you move and protect my belongings?
Yes. We move furniture out of affected areas, block or pad what stays, and document the condition of your contents before work begins.

What should I do immediately after water damage?
If it’s safe, stop the water source, avoid electrical hazards, keep kids and pets out of wet areas, and call Paces right away. Don’t wait. Mold can begin growing within 24–48 hours.
What should I do immediately after a fire?
Prioritize safety. Call 911 if needed, make sure everyone is accounted for, and do not re-enter until authorities say it’s safe. Then call Paces for board-up, smoke cleanup, and restoration support.
Is the water in my home dangerous?
It can be. Even clean supply-line water can pick up contamination as it sits. Water from drains, sewage, or outdoor flooding is a health hazard. Let our crew assess the water category before you walk through it.
I just had water damage. Should I worry about mold?
If professional drying starts within 24–48 hours, risk is lower. If water sat longer, or anything still smells musty after drying, get it checked. Fast extraction is one of the best mold-prevention steps.
Is mold dangerous to my health?
